Every small business has its beginning. Ours started back in the summer of 1977 when Alma started taking cake decorating classes in Southeast Houston.
For many years, she was making cakes from home for family and close friends. As time progressed, the opportunities did as well. Alma first landed on the scene decorating for Randall’s in Northwest Houston. There she amazed every one that bought a cake. Over time, Alma worked for Sam's Club until she decided to go into business for herself. In the Spring of 1999, construction was started to open her own bakery. By her side was Pedro who worked many long and hard hours for Toyota at the Port of Houston. As a couple, they made the decision to start on Alma's dream. In the late summer of 1999, Alma's Cakes was opened to the public. Since then, we have been serving the greater Houston area with great tasting cakes.
Her most famous cake is her very own Tres Leches.
